WHO WE ARE

WHO WE ARE

NeoNovo was created in March 2009. Producers, but also manager and artistic advicer (for professional trainings in France Issoudun, Adiam 95 …) , we are based in Rennes today.

Established by Yann Autret after numerous years as the person in charge of booking in several businesses, but also involved in management and programming, NeoNovo wants to be a producer who keeps a certain scenic quality, but above all, wants to be an ambassador of values with a certain respect of the cultures and the people at lartge. So from Kwal to Yvan Bolloc’h & Ma Guitare s’appelle Reviens, from Pulpalicious to Jim Murple Memorial, each of the artists we are working with are claiming in their own way the values we share : independance, envy to share magic instant with their public and creativity.

Anyway you trust in it or not : the cultural heritage and the notion of transmission are our values, anyway if they are subjective, poor, rich, big, small, black, white. If they are subversive or romantic, sung or cried out, classic or “underground”, let’s respect and let they live these cultures.

ARTISTS

ARTISTS

Absolute

Absolute is coming back to pick their story up again after a few years of silence. They are more Hardcore and Groovy than ever, exhibiting a huge range of musical styles:  Hardcore, Electro, Hip-hop, World music multi-colored just like the Paris north region where they come from. On the other hand, it’s a mix between energy, experience and maturity for an explosive, original and essential musical cocktail for the very big sound lovers.

Ben Mazué

Texts carefully produced, minimalist instrumental, Ben Mazué, accompanied by Clément Simounet at the guitar, gives us a music with a lot of influences, but mainly hip-hop. It is just hip-hop? Surely not. That’s why Ben is amazing: he can also be very lyrical with a beautiful Jazz and Soul effect. An all-round, an artist you can’t miss. A slap, a stroke and a lot of listening … It’s unique and it deserves to be listened, to be shared.

Jim Murple Memorial

With their new album, “A la recherche du son perdu”, the Jim Murple Memorial drives us on the way of New Orleans’s powerfull Rythmes & Blues, Jamaïca’ska with its famous brass section and Trinidad’s inevitable Calypso. The band is still the same: a scintalling drummer, an upright bass, two unforgettable guitarists, cools and poppin’-horns, and of course… Nanou’s mild crystal voice, the treasures of labels such as Motown, Atlantic or Verve. A voice full of nostalgia, carrying one away, far away, singing in French and English without breaking the flow. Now boarding!!

Pulpalicious

After 3 years making everybody moving on the biggest French and European stages (Eurockéennes, Garorock, Nordik Impakt, Bars en Trans, Plages electroniques) the Pulpalicious’s turntablists distils a powerfull electro / dancefloor. With an energetic set based on synthetic harmonious and scratched instrumentation, Pulpalicious is a real twister with a lot of pop / rock / funk influences. You have to be ready for this show!

Mesk!

This project is a unique and original creation which can’t be missed at the Quartz! When Sheer-K meets Didier Squiban… ”Mesk!” in Breton means “melting pot“. A mix of cultures (classic, jazz, hip-hop, electronic music), fusion of classical instruments and new technologies. It also mixes several atmospheres, when computers meet the grand piano in a sweet melancholy, guitars across from the electronic beats, the trumpet floats on the hip-hop singing and the whole is done by one in the most incredible soul voices of the country…

Kwal

Kwal trio is a musical conversation between Kwal’slam, Raphael Thuia’s guitar and Anne Laure Bourget’s drums. A new meeting for an intimist acoustic music. In the sky colored by the trio, Kwal’s text, Guitar sounds and percussions go well together. Their instruments, coming from the whole word, make us travelling from Orient to Africa, in Vincent Loiseau’s word, a word of poetry, travels and magic stories.

Sheer-K

The ” French Trip Hop ” band,  is leaded by her charismatic singer Stéphanie. After more than 10 000 sales for their first album (favorite of the Breton newspapers), they won’t stop where things are going so well and they continue their road with VIA. This is a more mature album fed by the envy of proposing a show very intense in sound and energy. A real happiness to be shared … The set is pretty intense, with a smoothing universe just like the Massive Attack trip hop can be, but equalized by one drum n’ bass more pragmatic . To be discovered!

Yvan Le Bolloc’h et Ma Guitare s’appelle Reviens

”Ma Guitare s’appelle Reviens” is a real melting pot, with musicians coming from very varied backgrounds: gypsies, Arabic, Spanish, a Breton and a Dutch! The show “Fiers et Susceptibles” mixes humor and music with a very strong thread: a contemporary vision of the world with its differences, and the link between peoples through the discovery of Gitanie.

Nouvel R

Nouvel R likes to denounce wrong things. They need to shake the French rap out of its lethargy to return to the classics such as the Supreme NTM or Assassin. Today Nouvel R can’t be whisked off, they seems to be the rightful successors of l’Ecole du Micro d’Argent, which brings an unrivaled energy on stage.

Audrey Katz

Audrey Katz is an amazing DJ who makes everybody dance in the concert halls… The red-haired girl seduced the audience with a strong and emotional music, and enforces her style through an increasing tour experience.
Today Audrey Katz is back with handcrafted tracks, produced with her friend Bijou Williams. Recently signed on the label “Leonizer Records”, she’s releasing her first EP which is full of electric remixes (DJ Pone, Make The Girl Dance, Lazy Flow, Jey Key Canblaster…). Two original tracks – Discolight and Drugs – have been inspired by rhythms of Autokratz or Tekel. Who said that girls are unable to do some great electro music?

Dog Almond

Somewhere between Gnarls Barkley and Massive Attack Christophe Calpini and Franco Casagrande present their new project: DOG ALMOND. They invite us in a dreamlike journey which takes root in an electro-abstract-pop universe. On stage, the intensity builds: Christophe Calpini gives life to the samples while Franco Casagrande mixes the fragility of his voice with a grinding guitar. Modern configuration, the duet, joined by the percussionist El Niño, exudes great energy and a personal sound, generating a very special emotion which transports us into their magical world. The whole operation is a trip divided between roon and dreams in an electro-pop world. Originality, simplicity and sensitivity are the main ingredients of this unique project.

Yapa

Yapa is a genuinely independent band of four friends (three guitarists and a percussionist) who have been going to the same gigs and the same bars since they were at school together. Through their compositions, they dream of making us travelling from the Burkina Faso to the Balkans… Their last album “Pariwaga” is full of beautiful collaborations such as Victor Démé, the Tuareg guitarist Koudédé or Patrice… They regularly set the stage of some of the best clubs in Paris (L Entrepôt, Le Sunset, L’Etage, La Java, Le Baiser Salé) and have gained an underground reputation as well as a small band of loyal fans. For a long time, the compositions of Yapa were always intended to make the listener travel, and some sound postcards from the Burkina Faso redraw their most beautiful adventure to this day.

Solillaquists Of Sound

Sollilaquists of Sound are well recognized with their furious music mixing hip-hop, dubstep and afrobeat with the amazing voice of Alexandrah and the flow of Swamburger. The effective beats of Divinci delight ears and legs. Solillaquists presents an original and elaborated music, far from the commercial opportunities of the hip-hop and which is going to investigate all the musical styles to bring us a new sound.
